Worcester-Bromyard-Leominster Greenway

There is an exciting project to re-open the disused Worcester-Bromyard-Leominster railway line as a multi-user track for walkers, cyclists and hose-riders. The project has a website, WBLGreenway. There is also a document outlining the project aims and benefits.

It would be wonderful if Members could complete the very short survey (less than a minute!) to help us build up the support we need: Greenway Survey.

Lockdown in the spring interrupted working party activities, however in the last couple of weeks they have put in a new stile and an extra cross step at Kimbolton and a couple of days ago cleared a stile at Ivington a couple of miles from Leominster.

The footbridge at Bodenham Church on footpath BM5 has now been replaced by Balfour Beatty.
Looks a really good job.

A lovely sunny day, but with a cold wind, was experienced by the Tea Shop walkers on Wednesday 12th February and in places the mud had more or less dried up!

Thanks to Dunelm for the tea and cake following the walk.

It is 70 years since the passing of the Act of Parliament enabling National Parks to be set up.  As part of the celebrations, Marika took part in a ramble from Castleton to Mam Tor in the Peak District National Park. 

BBC Countryfile were on hand to record the occasion and it will be shown on Sunday 7th April. Marika was interviewed by Matt Baker and it is hoped the interview will be included in the programme. It will be available on iPlayer soon afterwards.

The Ramblers Working Party have been busy again! Two new kissing gates have been erected close to Sollers Hope Church improving the footpath accessibility greatly in this rather idyllic part of the county. Thanks to Mike and the team for tackling the job in the muddy conditions, although it was a dry day for once.
