The main Ramblers website has general information on volunteering with Ramblers.
Herefordshire area have several roles available for volunteers. These include:
- Secretary. Largely dealing with electronic correspondence and helping the area to run smoothly.
- Publicity Officer. There is an opportunity to promote the achievements of Herefordshire Ramblers with the local press and on social media
- Practical Footpath Work. In the summer months we hold a working party fortnightly on a Friday to carry out pre-arranged practical work on the footpath network - a very rewarding job in which you will see visible results for your hard work.
- Looking after the Herefordshire Walking Trails. We look after three of the Trails in the county, The Herefordshire Trail, The Mortimer Trail, and the Three Choirs Way. Volunteers look after a section of approximately six miles, Waymarking, cutting back at stiles and keeping undergrowth under control. More serious problems are reported to the Working party.
- Don’t Lose Your Way. Submit claims for any unrecorded public rights of way. This is primarily a research exercise going through historical records to prove the existence of a right of way. If you know of any paths left off the Definitive Map or would like to help with the research then please contact Tom:
